shinya's idea + wood + steel + brass = ????

shinya had this idea for a couple of months.  he told me so. one time he said to me "i wanna make something like this..." (he moved his arms in front of me) " with kinda like this and this..."  again, he moved his arms and hands making some shapes.  i watched them carefully but couldn't get it.  and he didn't tell me exactly what it was.  on last sunday, he picked up a piece of wood, not a natural wood but just an ordinary chock block laid out near railroad and was mumbling "maybe i could use this..."  and today, all of a sudden, he started to whittle that wood.

数ヶ月前から、ちょっと思い立っちゃったんだよね～と言っていた木村氏。こういう感じでこうなってるこんなものなんだけど・・・と身振り手振りで宙に形を描いて見せてくれる。が、どんなに目を凝らして見ても、私にはその形は全く見えない。一体何を思い立っているのか、結局詳しくは分からないないまま時は過ぎ・・・日曜日、裏路地や線路沿いを探検している途中に一片の木を拾う。自然の木じゃなくて、トラックのタイヤ止めにでも使っていたようなよくあるもの。「まあ、使えるかもな、これでいいかな」などとブツブツ言いながら持ち帰り・・・本日突然にスイッチが入ってしまったようです。苦手の木工、木を削り始める木村氏。

もしかして木彫りの熊？それとも遂に仏像彫刻に手を出すのか？
